Harold L. Simpson, age 95, of East Street, Howard, Ohio passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on October 26, 1917 in Knox County, Ohio to the late Harley and Lucy (Mavis) Simpson.

Harold retired in 1972 from the Knox County Highway Department and worked other numerous jobs including Millwood Sand Plant and driving bus for Howard schools but his true passion was working at home on the family farm. He always enjoyed a good game of Euchre, hunting, baseball and harness racing.

He is survived by his son, Jerry Simpson, two daughters, Joan (Gary) Davidson and Judy Riley all of Mount Vernon, seven grandchildren, Greg (Angi) Davidson, Shelley (Joe) Menke, Trisha Davidson, Patrick (Darcy) Riley, Jaime (Rick) Muck, Mitch (Susie) Simpson, Jodi (George) Newton, six great grandchildren, Austin, Noah and Dayna Muck, Cameron Davidson, Jenna and Jaylyn Riley, Dana Menke and his canine companion Ben.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Eva (Landis) Simpson, two sons, James Simpson and Jan Simpson, a brother, Richard Simpson and a sister, Opal McMillan.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
