ROSE ZITA “Rosita” (GAINES) RAY, 92, of Gettysburg, Pa., and Sharpsburg, Md., passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at Homewood of Williamsport, Md. She was the wife of the late Dr. John George Ray Jr. Born Dec. 19, 1925, in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late J. Howard and Mary Ellen Gaines.
Rosita received bachelor of science degrees in biology and chemistry from Gettysburg College. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sharpsburg.
Rosita is survived by her daughter, Deborah Ann Ray of Reston, Va.; son, John Gaines Ray of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; sister, Anne G. Miller of Dillsburg, Pa.; and two grandsons.
A memorial service is planned for a later date with family and friends to celebrate her life.
