gunshot wound of head and chest,
shot in line of duty while making arrest. He was Captain of police in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY.

Captain Parr and Detective William Mulligan were murdered when they attempted to arrest two individuals on burglary charges. Captain Parr sustained fatal gunshot wounds to the head and chest. The gunman was convicted of two counts of murder
and executed in the electric chair in 1933.

Captain Parr served with the Louisville Division of Police from 1918 until his death.

He was survived by a wife, three sons and a daughter. He was buried in a cemetery in Alton, Indiana.
