Forrest "Joe" Joseph Payne, 65, of Diamond, passed away unexpectedly on November 3, 2012 at St Vincent Clay Hospital with his family by his side.
Joe was born July 14, 1947 the son of Forrest "Munk"and Luetta (Webster) Payne. Joe graduated from Rosedale High School in 1965. Following high school, Joe served in the United States Army during Vietnam, where he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal amongst many others. Joe worked for the Indianapolis Postal Services for over twenty years.
Joe married the love of his life Rosella "Joyce" Krider on November 1, 1968.
He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and friends.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents and his brother George Payne.
He is survived by his wife: Joyce Payne of Diamond; daughters: Janette "Susie" Hargrave and husband Robert of Bloomington, Terri Jo Branson and Cecil Rambo of Brazil; sons; Troy Payne and Cassie Garrett of Diamond, Robert Helton and wife Dena; brothers and sisters: Jerry and Geraldine Payne, Sarah and Gene Havey, Jim and Caroline Payne, Don and Lynn Payne, Carol and Mike Jacob, Sharon Payne, grandchildren: Kayla Jones and husband Greg of Harmony, Josie Harris and Ronald "Doc" Barnett of Terre Haute, Brittany and Courtney Branson and their father Larry Branson, Rachel Buchanan, Elizabeth "Libby" and Alan Payne and their mother Kimberely Hicks, Steven Burton Jr; great-grandchildren: Kayden Wright and Paccen Jones; special friends: Wayne and Debbie Walton, Greg Walton, Alan and Tina Schrader; along with many extended family and friends.
Funeral Information
Services will be Friday, November 9, 2012 at 12pm at French Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Hess officiating. Burial will follow at Clear Run Cemetery in Bridgeton. Visitation will be Thursday, November 8, 2012 from 4 – 8pm at the funeral home.
