Mrs. Annie Irene McAlister Charping, 81, of McClellan Road, wife of Alfred C. " A.C. " Charping, died April 1, 1989, at Anderson Memorial Hospital.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Dayton M. and Flossie Smith McAlister. She was employed with Charping Furniture Shop for 44 years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Anderson.
Surviving are widower; daughters, Mrs. Wallace (Margaret) Tinsley, Mrs. Jerry (Brenda) Slaton and Mrs. Ronnie (Betty) Engram all of Anderson, and Mrs. Ed (Mary) Pruitt of Houston, Texas; brothers, the Rev. E.M. McAlister of Hartsville, S.C., Harold and James McAlister both of Anderson; sister, Mrs. John (Effie Gee) Prater of High Point, N.C.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at The McDougald Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Bob Marcaurelle and Jimmy Gaines. Burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. The family is at the home of a daughter Mrs. Wallace (Margaret) Tinsley, 1507 McClellan Road, Anderson.
The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders, 200 McGee Road, Anderson, S.C. 29621.
