s/o Henry and Sarah A (Simonds) Harriman; h/o (1) Mary McCabe whom he married in 1887; h/o (2) Miss Margaret Adams he united in marriage on June 22, 1906 in Peacham VT.

His parents came to Franconia, NH to live while Elroy was a small boy and he spent his boyhood here and obtained his education in town.

When a young man he went to New York City to work and while there he met and married Miss Mary McCabe in 1887. Six children were born of this union: May Keeper of Goffs Falls, Julia (Mrs. Walter Stimpson) of South Portland, ME; Bessie, ( Mrs. Robert Neill), of North Miami, FL; Rodney of Newtonville, MA; Gertrude, (Mrs. Alfred Fenoff) of Ascutney, VT and Leon who is serving in the Army as a private.

Mr. and Mrs. Harriman returned to Franconia, NH to live where Mrs. Harriman died on October 1, 1900. On June 22, 1906, he united in marriage with Miss Margaret Adams of Peacham VT. Eight children were born of this union: Guy of Lisbon, Lurline, (Mrs. Henry Weeks) of St. Johnsbury VT; Elroy Jr. of White River Jct. VT; Robert of Meredith,: Homer who is a private in the service, as is his brother Clinton; Clifton of Fort Ann N.Y.; and Alton and Kenneth of Franconia.

"BOARD SAWYER" Mr. Harriman was a board sawyer and worked a number of years in the Brooks and Whitney sawmill in town and later worked for Charles Young at Easton. He was a former member of Gale River Lodge, I.O.O.F., and of the order of Maccabees. He was a genial, cheerful man and highly respected by his many friends.

Besides his widow and children he is survived by 18 grandchildren and four great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Della Herbert of Franconia, NH.

The bearers were Willis E. Herbert, Walter Stimpson, Alfred Fenoff, Robert Neill, Joseph Herbert and Arthur LeDoux. Out of town friends attending the funeral service were: Mr and Mrs Patrick McGill and Mr and Mrs Frank McGill of Danville, VT., and the Misses Jean and Dorothy Jamieson of North Danville, VT.
