He was a member of the Laurel fire company and died in the line of duty.

Eugene Greiman, driver of horse drawn and motorized fire apparatus for a quarter century, was fatally stricken while beside a fire engine of the Laurel Fire company which he drove to the scene of a blaze yesterday morning. He was 68 years old.

Mr. Greiman, regular driver for the Laurel for the last 14 years, collapsed shortly afteer he and other firemen responded to an alarm for a fire in the boiler room of the York Paper Manufacturing company plant. The plant at 242 W. Princess Street has been idle for some time. Only slight damage resulted.

Mr. Greiman had alighted from the Laurel apparatus in a lot between the College avenue bridge and Princess street. He collapsed alongside the apparatus, was rushed by police to the York hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Death was caused by a coronary occlusion.

Mr. Greiman leaves his wife, Carrie A. Greiman; three sons, Ralph A., Carl E., and Frank B.; two brothers Augustus and Norman and a sister Mrs. Alton B. King.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran church; the Veteran Firemen's association and Local 627, York City Paid Fire Drivers' association.

Interment followed in Prospect Hill Cemetery
