Mrs. Mary Beatrice Gestring, 74, of Battle Creek, Mich., died Thursday, November 27, 1997, at Mercy Pavilion in Battle Creek.
Born Saturday, May 12, 1923 at Florence, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Wiley H. Davis and Roxie C. (LeMay) Davis.
On December 21, 1940 in Cooter, Mo., she was united in marriage with Virgil Otis "Bud" Gestring, who preceded her in death.
A sister, Lourine Mashburn, and two brothers: Arthur Davis and Herbert Davis, also preceded her in death.
A member of Dexter Lake Church of God, she was employed by Post Cereal Co. for 16 years before retiring.
Mrs. Gestring leaves four sisters: Eula Palmer, of Steele, Mo., Tessie Smith, of Ringgold, Ga., Lucille Hall of Bonne Terre, Mo. and Janie Lafan of Detroit, Mich.; and two brothers: Bud Davis of Steele and Hershel Davis of Battle Creek.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gestring were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 1997 at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Steele with Mr. Leon Rayburn officiating.
Burial was at Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele with Bradshaw Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
Pallbearers were Glyn Davis, Lyle Davis, Lane Davis, Travis Davis, Dale Davis, and Wendell Davis.
