Jean B. (Bittinger) Deardorff, 85, died Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 7:20 p.m. at the Village at Sprenkle Drive. She was the wife of the late Leroy J. Deardorff and the late Howard R. Goodemote.

Mrs. Deardorff was born February 4, 1927 in York, the daughter of the late Dale A. and Marie E. (Hartman) Bittinger.

She was a payroll secretary at Memorial Hospital, a graduate of William Penn H.S., and a member of the York Salvation Army Ladies Auxiliary, OES White Rose Chapter #360, Women's Club of York, Lions Club and the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Mrs. Deardorff is survived by a stepdaughter, Margaret A. "Marnette" Sexton and husband Mike of York; two stepsons, Stephen L. Deardorff of Red Lion and Michael E. Deardorff and wife Barb of Arlington, Texas; five step grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Paul H. Goodemote.

There will be no viewing. Following cremation with Workinger-Semmel F.H. & Crematorium, Inc., York, there will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 14th at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
