HMS Mashona [F 59] was a Royal Navy destroyer, Tribal Class, which was involved in the sinking of the German Battleship "Bismarck" on 27 May 1941 in the North Atlantic. She came under heavy attack from the Luftwaffe on the following day, and was sunk west of Galway.
She had a crew of 219, of whom 48 died.

Johnson's body was washed ashore near Belmullet, Co. Mayo.

Commemorated on Grangegorman Memorial.

Thought to be buried in Grave No. 12,
Kilcommon Erris Churchyard.
Belmullet, Co. Mayo.
