Son of Laurence Lavery and Lily Machin Lavery, who were married in Wortley district, Leeds, in 1920.

Commemorated on a panel at Grangegorman Memorial.
Thought to be buried at Killybegs Old Graveyard, Killybegs, Co. Donegal.


HMS Corncrake [M82] was a "Fish" Class Minelayer.
She was launched in March 1942, and commissioned on 7 December 1942.
She foundered in heavy weather in the North Atlantic on 25 January 1943.
His body was washed ashore in Donegal Bay.
