Maiden name spelled 'Bentancourt' in the San Fernando burial records.
From MSA p.176
1st Husband Juan Rodriguez Granado
2nd Husband Martin Lorenzo de Armas

She was the daughter of Manuel and Paula Umpienes (Umpierre), aged 27 years, according to the November 8, 1730 Quatitlan list, natives of Lancerote; "good figure, slender, long face, fair complexion, black hair and eyebrows, thin nose." As a descendant of the first conquerors and rulers of the Canary Islands, she was without question, the social leader of the villa of San Fernando de Bexar. Her original grant was on the Plaza of the Islas, facing west, and north of the Casas Reales, extending east along the south side of the street going to the Valero Mission (now Commerce St.). She was head of the 14th family. She was buried in San Antonio January 26, 1779. The Granado home was built in typical style, with a patio, and arcaded corridors. The furnishings were worthy of the most beautiful of modern homes, most of them being brought from the Canary Islands, as heirlooms.
