HARRY OSTRANDER SUCCUMBS IN EAST

Seattle, Mar. 4--Harry F. Ostrander, president of the Pioneer Sand and Gravel company, died in Baltimore, Md., today from complications following an operation, word received here said. He had been receiving treatment there since last December. His widow was at the bedside.

Besides the widow, Ostrander is survived by five children. Ostrander who had lived nearly 50 years in Washington, came to Olympia from Wisconsin with his parents. He attended Wentworth college in Puyallup. He was 57 years old.

Services at the residence, 4000 Denny-Blaine Place, Wednesday at 3 p.m. Cremation. Booney-Watson Co. funeral directors.

OSTRANDER RITES THIS AFTERNOON - Funeral of Pioneer Business and Civic Leader to be Conducted from Home

Funeral services for Harry F. Ostrander, outstanding figure in Seattle's business and civic affairs for many years and a resident of the state for almost half a century, will be held this afternoon at the family residence, 200 40th Ave. N., at 3 o'clock. Mr. Ostrander died at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore Friday.

The Rev. Dr. George A Wieland recotor of Epiphany Episcopal Church will officiate.

Active pallbearers will be Gordon M. Scott, Maurice R. McMicken, Ralph Hawley, Samuel Barnes, Charles Lea and Fred Parks.

Honorary pallbearers will be William Calvert, Moritz Thomsen, C. W. Wiley, Phillips Morrison, Dr. William C. Heussy, George Greenwood, W. H. McGrath, Joseph Black, Manson F. Backus, F. V. Donnelly, W. O. McKay, Frederick A. Wing and D. L. Williams.
