Dorothy M. Payter passed away Saturday August 13, 2011 at The Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, WV.

Dorothy was born in Memphis, TN., July 13, 1930 where she lived most of her life. She lived the last 20 years of her life with her loving family in Charleston, WV.
Dorothy lived a full and very interesting life; she participated in the first international Geri Olympics in Prague, Czech Republic in October of 2008. Selected as Ms. Heartland she was interviewed in May of 2008 at the Charleston Senior Expo. by Martin Staunton of WOWK TV Channel 13. She was also interviewed in Prague by Cheska Televize television network and again in Charleston by Story Corps.

She is preceded in death by parents, Napoleon Anest, Pauline Blalack Duckworth, husband, Arthur Payter, son: Richard Lynn Rodriguez; two half brothers: Ben Ray Corbell and Harry Lee Corbell; sister, Ora Pauline Anest Adams.
She is survived by,

Sons, Celestino Rodriguez, Jr., Jim Van Sickel, Richard Payter, Greg Payter, Steve Sims, Landis Hewett. Daughters, R. L. Gwyn Dekker, Kathy Chaney, Debbie Payter. 5 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grand children

Visitation Service will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 from 6 to 8 pm at Hafer Funeral Home Chapel and burial will follow on Friday, August 19, 2011 in Memphis Tn.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers that you pass on random acts of kindness to your family by giving hugs.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Rick Rodriguez, Steve Sims, Jr., Michael Peters, Joshua Peters,
And Nathan Peters.
