Dorothy Opal Fortune was born August 18, 1905 in Lucas County, Iowa, the daughter of Edward L. and Rachel Ellen Fortune. She passed away May 18, 1973 at the Wayne County Hospital in Corydon at the age of 67 years, eight months and 27 days.

On June 5, 1930, she became the wife of John H. Stech of Wayne County and lived on the farm her entire life.

She is survived by her husband, John Stech, one son, Loyal Stech; daughter-in-law, Joan; and two grandchildren, Ronald and Kathy Stech; also three brothers: Clell of Chariton, Frank of St. Joseph, Mo., and Earl of Promise City; five sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Elvin and Almon; one sister, Goldie who died in infancy and one granddaughter, Becky Sue Stech who died in infancy.

Dorothy has been a member of Sunny Slope Church of Christ since 1945. She has been a faithful member until her health failed about two months ago.

She has been a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She devoted her well years to her grandchildren whom she dearly loved.

Funeral services were held at the Wolf Funeral Home and interment was in the New York Cemetery.
