Les was a sheet metal worker, being the youngest man to work on the Golden Gate Bridge. He and his wife Ann Frances (nee Burk) lived in Burlingame for 47 years, raising their family. He played football in his youth and swam and played handball at the Elks Club in San Mateo until well into his 80s. He was an excellent bridge player, enjoyed reading, and at age 87 floated on an inner tube in the middle of the Russian River. His home during the last years was the Assisted Living Facility at the Palms in Roseville. He was a gentle man who loved children and animals. He passed away at 93 years young and was survived by his son James McFadden, his daughter Carol Pollack, five grandchildren, and three g-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, as well as his sisters Pearl and Eunice.
