Funeral services were held in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Broussard for Francis Thomas "Frank" Olivier, 95, who passed away peacefully November 2, 2012 at River Oaks Nursing Home in Lafayette. Entombment followed in Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Broussard.

A native and lifelong resident of Broussard, Louisiana, Mr. Olivier was a loving father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, great great grandfather and friend to all who knew him.

He served his country proudly as a member of the United States Merchant Marines and was a 4th Degree Member of the Knight of Columbus. He was employed by Central Exploration from 1941-1965, worked for Interstate Batteries from 1970-1983, and also worked at the Lafayette Parish Sheriff Department from 1983-1994 until his retirement.

He enjoyed playing cards and bingo and spending time visiting with family and friends. Mr. Olivier will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include one son, one daughter, four grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eula Melancon Olivier; his parents, Francis Tillou and Enola Landry Olivier; his granddaughter, Francine Cole-Templeton; and his brother, Lloyd Emment Olivier.
