Wife of T. E. Vaughn

Wayne County Outlook
13 Apr 1922

On March 15, 1922, Mrs. Lula Vaughan departed this life. She was 31 years, four months and twenty one days old. She was born Oct. 25, 1890 and was a daughter of W.A. Johnson.

She was united in marriage to Tom Vaughan on August 30, 1913, and to this union were born two children, Clyde and Dwight.

She leaves a husband, mother, three sisters, four brothers and a host of friends to mourn her loss. But our loss is her eternal gain.

She professed faith in Christ and joined the Baptist church at Old Union at an early age and lived a devoted Christian life until God called her home to live with him and loved ones gone on before.

All was done that loving hands could do to save dear Lula, but it seems God knew best and He called her home to rest.

Oh, we miss her, yes, we miss her,
For the kind deeds she has done,
But the sweet thoughts is to know
that we will meet her
around the beautiful throne of God.

Lula is gone but not forgotten;
Never will her memory fade;
Sweetest thoughts will ever linger,
Round the grave where she is laid.

Oh, how slowly glide's the moments;
Oh, how long appears the day,
Oh, how sad we all have been
Since dear Lula passed away.

A precious one from us is gone
A voice we loved is stilled
A place is vacant in the home
Which never can be filled
We love her, yes we love her
But the angels loved her more
And that sweetly called her
To yonder's shining shore
