Rites Held For Ivan H. Brooks - Ivan H. Brooks, 51, of Marengo, died Monday at
the Veterans Hospital in Louisville. He had been in ill health since January.

A son of Levi H. Brooks and Stella Brooks Chamberlin, he was born June 5, 1920.
He married Mary Ann Heaton, of Indianapolis, in 1951. To this union, a daughter,
Ada Lou, was born.
He was reared in Crawford County, where he spent most of
his life. He was a World War 11 veteran and a member of the Marengo American
Legion Post No. 84. He was employed and lived in Indianapolis for ten years
before returning to Crawford County, where he served a veterans officer and
county assessor. When he became ill, he was employed at the Indiana Census
office in Jeffersonville.
Besides his wife, mother and daughter, he is
survived by two sisters, Mrs Nadine Fullenwider, of Leavenworth, and Mrs Mildred
Brandenburg, of New Albany, and a brother Joseph R. Brooks, of Leavenworth. He
was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Robert, who lost his life in
World War II.
Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Haverstock
Funeral Home in Marengo. The Rev Ralph Miller, minister of Marengo United
Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was at Orchard Knob cemetery at
Alton.
