KINGSLEY - Ethel C. Nickerson , 90, of Kingsley, died on Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at Munson Medical Center. She was born on May 20, 1913, in Flint, the daughter of John and Alice (Youngless) Ockert. Ethel married Donald Nickerson on Dec. 20, 1932, at St. Mary of Hannah Catholic Church.
Ethel was a homemaker, and was noted for her baking and sewing.
Granny is survived by two sons, Lawrence (Alpha) Nickerson of Beulah, and Gerald Allen Nickerson of Culver, Ore.; five daughters, Mary Darlene Dunn of Bend, Ore., Carol White of Kingsley, Sharon Lee Nickerson of Halfway, Ore., Sandra Rae (William) French of La Center, Wash., and Susan Elaine (Keith) McVannell of Bend, Ore.; 10 grandsons and many great-grandchildren; five brothers, Robert (Marjorie) Ockert, Joseph (Mary) Ockert, Gerald (Kathy) Ockert, Ralph (Zita) Ockert, and Frederick (Donna) Ockert; three sisters, Beatrice Weidner, Donaldine (Max) Nickerson, Margaret Lewis, and Betty (Dan) Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters; two brothers; and her granddaughter.
Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Kingsley. Traverse City Record Eagle
