Robert ? Bob " Fredrick Kenesky passed away peacefully at home on March 22, 2008 with family by his side, while under the care of Niagara Hospice.

He was born in Niagara Falls on December 25, 1921 to Harry and Maude [ Hibbard ] Kenesky. He lived there and also in Newfane with his family. He moved to Sanborn in 1965 and resided there since.

Bob was married for 21 years to the former Erma Ventry, they were married on June 29, 1975. She predeceased him on December 5, 1996.

He was a highly decorated WW II US Navy Veteran, serving in the South Pacific from 1942-46 as a B-24 Tail gunner & mechanic receiving the following medals: American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign. Medal with 3 bronze stars Navy Good Conduct, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon WWII Victory Medal, Honorable Service Lapel Button, and Honorability Discharge Button. He was a member of Squadron # VB - 108.

After his military service, Robert joined his family?s Newfane business as a butcher. Robert also spent many years bartending at Bowl O'Drome and the Niagara Frontier Country Club. He later left the family business becoming the head butcher for the former Twin Fair Department Stores. He retired and opened up the American Vending, Inc.

Bob also was a bowler, a member of the Moose Lodge, a Mason and a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Newfane.

He was an avid golfer and a member of the Niagara Frontier County Club, Bob's first "hole in one" occurred on July 15th 1967. His last one on September 9th 2000. All occurring at the Niagara Frontier County Club.

Bob had a unique ability in that he was able to make everyone laugh and smile. He always had a funny story or joke to tell and loved doing so. Even during his recent illness, he was endlessly entertaining all who were caring for him.

For the past four years, Robert was cared for by his grandson William [ Michelle ] Suitor. He is also survived by grandson H. James [ Jacqueline ] Suitor, granddaughter Mary [ Patrick ] Bondi and step-daughter Beverly Hill. Several nieces include Marilyn [ Paul ] Kankolenski, Linda [ Kirk ] VanScotten, Karen [ Cetto ] Mazza and nephew James Martino. He was predeceased by his sisters Ruth Quester, Grace Martino and Brother Ralph Kenesky
