Dr. Joanetta H. Spears, MD, age 62, of Milton, passed away Saturday, November 03, 2012 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. She was born in Pike County, Kentucky to the late Marvin and Pansy Prater Hopkins. Dr. Spears obtained her BA from Eastern KY University then her Pre Med from Moorehead State, finishing at University of Louisville School of Medicine. Upon moving to Murfreesboro she practiced in a local office as a General Practitioner until she moved to work in the infirmary at MTSU for several years. Dr. Spears was preceded in death by her parents and stepson, Brian Caissie. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Kenneth Caissie; sons, Daniel Caissie (Hailey Traver) of Johnson City, TN and Zach Spears of Murfreesboro; daughter, Kelly Caissie (Greg Schamberg) of Nashville; Brothers Bruce and wife charlene hopkins and paul and wife vickie several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and her loving pet, Ruby Rose. Visitation with the family will be Monday, November 05, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 06, 2012 at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with her dear friend and uncle, Rev. Dale Prater officiating. Burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery
