Frank Becker died at his home, 203 Eleventh street, on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock after a long illness. Death was due to consumption. The deceased was thirty six years of age and has lived in Boone since boyhood. He was a machinist by trade. When the Spanish American war broke out Frank Becker enlisted in company I of this city and went with the boys to chickamauga. It is the testimony of every member of the company that he made an exemplary soldier. The boys honored his deceased memory by turning out to the funeral, which was held on Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock. Rev O.H.L Mason of the first Presbyterian church, a former chaplain of the army officiated and the remains were laid to rest in Linwood.
