Hunter Kills Boy in
Mistake for Woodchuck

Mark, the seven-year-old son of
Charles Peabody of West Clarksville,
N. Y. and a grandson of
Mrs. Charlotte Peabody of 64
Euclid avenue, was shot and instantly
killed by a hunter while
enjoying a walk in a woods near
his home yesterday afternoon
members of the Peabody family
here were informed last night.
According to the meagre details
received here, the boy's body was
hidden in a clump of bushes so
that only the top part of his body
appeared, giving the unfortunate
marksman the thought that he was
shooting at a woodchuck. The
bullet passed through the boy's
Mrs. Peabody, accompanied by
her son, Percy Peabody, left for
West Clarksville last night to attend
funeral services for the boy.
