George C. Brontmire, of Sanborn, NY passed away on Friday, January 11, 2008, in Our Lady of Peace Heath Care Residence, Lewiston, NY.

He was born in Cardinal, Ontario, on August 19, 1919, the son of Nelson and Effie [McNairn] Brontmire. Mr. Brontmire moved to Niagara Falls, NY with his family as a child, he graduated from Trott Vocational High School.

He served with the US ARMY during World War II in the European Theater, where he was wounded in December of 1943 and received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Mr. Brontmire was an electrical Supervisor with Niagara Mohawk for 40 years, before retiring in 1979.

He was a member of the American Legion Post # 1453, the Military Order of the Purple Heart and the LaSalle Sportsman's Club.

Mr. Brontmire is survived by his wife Arlene [Woock] Brontmire, they were married on June 22, 1946, one son John (Rosalie) Brontmire of Clearfield, UT, one daughter Gale (George "Skip") Bradley, III of Colorado Springs, CO, one sister Mary (Robert) Workman of Niagara Falls, NY, a grandson George Bradley, IV, also several nieces and nephews.
