GREENSBORO — Margaret Morton Anderson died Thursday, July 19, 2007, at Beacon Place in Greensboro.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 2105 West Market St., with the Rev. Robert Hamilton officiating. Inurnment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.

Born in Orange, Virginia, to the late Fannie Bolling and Jackson Morton, Margaret moved with her parents at age two to Greensboro, where she was a life long resident.

She was educated at Curry School, Greensboro Senior High School and Woman's College.

Margaret was a life member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church where she served actively in many capacities. She was the first woman to serve on the Vestry of the Church.

She was an accomplished artist and well known for her portraits of children.

She and her husband, Robert loved to travel and their trips became a source of many of her paintings.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jackson Morton Anderson.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert C. Anderson and her brother, Judge Bruce Morton and wife, Sidney and many loving nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Andrew's Church, or a charity of your choice.
