Mrs. Jean Fielder Irvin, 72, of Camp Hill died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika.

Funeral services will be held at New Adka Baptist Church,
Dadeville on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. (CST) with Rev. Edward Milner officiating. Interment will be in the Shiloh cemetery, Camp Hill. The remains will lie instate at the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Irvin was born May 12, 1940 to the late Eddie & Archie Fielder in Tallapoosa County. She was educated in the Tallapoosa County School System and graduated from Edward Bell High School in 1958. She received her BS degree from Alabama State University and Master degree from Alabama A&M University. Mrs. Irvin taught classes in the Tallapoosa School System for thirty-eight years.

She joined the New Adka Baptist Church, Dadeville at an early age where she served as Church Secretary, President of the Missionary Society and Adult Choir President for many years. In the Auburn District, she served as Secretary and Treasurer until her health began to fail in 2010.

Mrs. Irvin was preceded in death by her husband, William Irvin and her brother, Milford Fielder.

Mrs. Irvin is survived by two sisters: Margaret Freeman, Blackville, SC and Eddie Mae Maddox, Toledo, OH; one sister-in-law, Thelma Fielder, Scherty, TX; a Goddaughter, Cynthia (Dwayne) Ware, Camp Hill and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Vines Funeral Home, Inc., LaFayette, is handling the arrangements.
