Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum website: JOHNSON, Ephraim: WI 27th Inf Co D. Residence: Manitowoc, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. Born in Norway. Civil War: Farmer. Age 37. Blue eyes, dark hair, light complexion, 5'8". Enlisted for one year on 19 Sep 1864 at Manitowoc. Mustered 7 Oct 1864 at Madison, Wisconsin. Private. Recruit. Joined the company from recruiting depot on 8 Nov 1864. Bounty $100, $33.33 still due at muster out. Private. Mustered out with company on 14 Jul 1865 at Clarksville, Texas.
