The deceased, Barbara Kaiser, nee Wandel, was born October the 4th, 1830, at Kusterdingen, Germany. She received a Christian education and became a constant and faithful member of the Evang. Lutheran Church.
In 1857 she united in marriage with John G. (Johann Georg) Kaiser; twelve children were born to them, two sons and ten daughters. In 1867 she emigrated with her family to this country. They bought a home in Richland Township, Steuben County, Ind., where they remained until her death.
The deceased was for the last few years very feeble and often sick. Six weeks ago she took sick with kidney disease and suffered very much until last Tuesday evening, July the 4th, when the Lord released her from all her sufferings through death, aged 68 years and 9 months. She was ready to die and exchange this poor life for the better life in Heaven, which is prepared and given by Jesus Christ to all those who believe in Him as their Savior.
Funeral services were held July the 16th, in the Evang. Lutheran Church at Edon, Ohio, of which congregation the deceased was a member for the last 30 years, conducted by Rev. W. Wacke, the Pastor of said congregation. Her remains were laid to rest in the Edon cemetery. Her husband, eleven children, a number of grandchildren , two brothers, four sisters and many other relatives and friends mourn her departure.
The Lord comfort all those who mourn and seek the comfort promised in His word.

Mother has gone; how sadly we miss her!
No longer her sweet loving words we shall hear.
Our father's old home seems so lonesome and dreary,
For mother's no longer our earth life shall cheer.

Long years she has labored through childhood to cheer us,
With only the words of a kind mother's love.
But now she has gone; her voice her is silent,
But is heard with the Angels in mansions above.

Farewell then dear mother, this tribute we bring thee;
By thy dear loving children it freely is given.
'Tis the last mark of love that on earth we can give thee
While the heart with deep grief for thy loss here is riven.

God knows what is best. He has called thee from labor;
Thy face here on earth we shall see nevermore.
But we hope when our own earthly life shall be ended
to see thee again on the evergreen shore.
