Pauline Violet (Shearer) Batdorf, 98, of Palmyra, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 2, 2012 at Columbia Cottage in Palmyra. She was born Monday, December 1, 1913 in Palmyra to the late William and Mamie (Dougherty) Shearer. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert James Batdorf, in 1974.
Pauline was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit and was their very first organist. She enjoyed playing the organ, sewing, and was always ready for a game of Bingo. Most importantly she was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Barnhart and husband Dennis; 3 grandchildren, Sherry Conrad and husband Matt, Janelle Bitner and husband John, Lynn Stoner and husband Bill; 5 great grandchildren, Bailey Faesel, Colton Conrad, Mitchell and Emily Bitner, and Erin Stoner; a son-in-law Richard Lesnefsky; and a brother, Mark Shearer. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Lesnefsky; and a granddaughter, Morgan Faesel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 6th at 10 AM at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 245 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 with Father James F. Podlesny as celebrant, with burial following in Grandview Memorial Park, Annville. Family and friends are invited for viewing on Monday, November 5th from 6 to 8 PM at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the , East Central Division, PO Box 897, Hershey, PA 17033.
