Juanita Marie Bales, 87, of Lee's Summit and a resident of John Knox Village Care Center passed away Monday, May 1, 2000, at John Knox Village Care Center, Lee's Summit. Graveside services are 2 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at Paola Cemetery, Paola, Kan.
She was born in Watts, Okla., on April 8, 1913. She was the daughter of the late Benjaman F. and Ethel I. Hutton Endicott.
She had lived in the area of Paola, Ottawa, Topeka and Kansas City, Kan., most all of her life, and was a graduate of Paola High School in the class of 1931.
She married George F. Bales on Nov. 14, 1937, in Wichita, Kan. To this union was born a son, Franklin E. Bales. She was a member of the Topeka Methodist Church, and Topeka Chapter 462 of Easter Star.
Juanita moved to JKV in 1983 and was active in community events in the Village.
She is survived by her sister, Edna Rollo, JKV Care Center; a son, Franklin Bales, Lawrence, Mass.; a niece Linda Swiderski; and nephew, Ben Lane.
