Stephen E. Dunlop, 48, 550 West Central, Wichita, died early Saturday, Oct. 16, 1999, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He had been in his usual health, and his death was unexpected.

He was born Sept. 21, 1951, in Pittsburg, KS to Glenn Dunlop and Helen (Yockey) Dunlop. He lived in Girard, KS until the age of 10 when he and his family moved to Erie. He graduated from Erie High School, and earned a bachelor's degree in business from Pittsburg State University.

Mr. Dunlop first worked for the Bush Hog Co. in Galesburg, KS. He later moved to Coffeyville, where he worked for the Par-Mac Company for 16 years. In Wichita, he was employed with Contemporary Communications, Inc.

He was a professional musician and had played in bands in Southeast Kansas.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Erie.

Survivors include his companion, Deb Weaver of Wichita; his mother, Helen Dunlop of Erie; two sisters, Lyn Marnell of Wichita and Claudia Obenhaus of Erie; one nephew, Mark Marnell of Wichita; three nieces, Stephanie Marnell of Wichita, Lisa Myers of Parsons, and Jill Kangas of Palmdale, CA, and an aunt, Margaret Buckles, of Erie.

He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn I. Dunlop, on June 5, 1993.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the East Hill Cemetery in Erie, with the Rev. Jere' Wells officiating.
