ALBERT BRABEC

Albert H. Brabec, son of Anton and Katherine Brabec, was born at Virginia, Neb., on March 16, 1899, and passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital in Concordia, Kan., October 29 at the age of 68 years, 7 months and 13 days.

At the age of eight years, with his parents and sisters and brothers he moved to a farm near Narka. He attended his first year of school in Virginia, Neb., and received the rest of his schooling in Narka.

October 21, 1930, he was united in marriage to Viola Marsicek. They established their home 1 1/2 miles east of Narka where Al had a newly built home waiting for his bride.
To this union were born one son, Richard Allen, and two daughters, Sharon Alberta and Charlene Rae.

Al, as he was called by everyone, was the first president of the Narka Community Club. He served as a school board member of both grade and high school. He was a member of the Masonic lodge of Narka; the Order of the Eastern Star, of which he was Worthy Patron for four years, and the ZCBJ lodge, of which he was financial secretary for the past 30 years.

Preceding him in death were his parents, an infant son, one brother, Elmer, and one sister, Agnes Cerny.

Survivors include his wife, Viola, two daughters, Sharon, Mrs. Keith Woodside, and Charlene of the home; one son in law, Keith Woodside, and one grandson, Alan; two sisters; Mrs. Libbie Kozeluh of Rawlins, Wyo., Mrs. Blanche Ward of Bellevue, Neb.; four brothers, Charley of Washington, Tony of Mahaska, Joseph and his twin brother Rudolph of Narka, several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held at the United Presbyterian Church at Narka. Burial was at (Kasha) National Cemetery south of Narka, Kansas.
