Belinda Marie Goodson Moss, 36, of McAlester, died Nov. 1, 2012, at her home near Scipio. The family will receive friends at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Tony Randol will officiate. Committal services will be held at 2 p.m. at the Shady Point Cemetery in Shady Point near Poteau. Arrangement are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home. She was born on June 21, 1976, in McAlester to Ed J. and Katherine Arlene (Talmadge) Goodson. She grew up in Dow, where she attended Dow Baptist Church and moved with her family to McAlester as a teenager. She graduated from Haileyville High School, and attended Eastern State College in Wilburton. She continued her education at East Central University in Ada, earning a master's degree in biochemical science. She married Kevin Moss on May 23, 2003, in Las Vegas. She has worked in the business office at McAlester Union Stockyards for 15 years, and also worked as a lab supervisor at Latimer County Hospital for 10 years. She enjoyed shopping, collecting antiques and rescuing stray animals. She also enjoyed college sports, especially University of Oklahoma football. She was survived by her husband, Kevin Moss, of the home; father, Ed J. Goodson, of McAlester; sister and brother-in-law, Micki and Curtis Derryberry, of Wilburton; niece, Mackenzie Derryberry, of Wilburton; paternal grandparents, Mike and Johnnie Goodson, of Albuquerque, N.M.; aunts and uncles, Toni and Jim Montessi, of Porter; Mike and Ellen Goodson, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Wes and Michele Goodson, of Albuquerque, N.M.; special friends, Chris and Joy Alexander, of Haileyville; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members. She was preceded in death by her mother and her maternal grandparents. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Pittsburg County Animal Shelter in lieu of flowers or plants.
