Kay Patterson passed into the Arms of our Lord on November 3rd, 2012, after a long battle with ovarian cancer. She is survived by her devoted husband of eight years, Fred Patterson, her two children April Graves Seligmann and Kirk Graves, her five grandchildren Abby and Ella Seligmann, and Trey, Bailey, and Paxton Graves, and by her brother Wayne Neely. Born Floryce Kay Neely on May 1st, 1947, in Shreveport, LA, to parents Floryce and Edwin Neely, she grew up in Houston. She attended Stephen F. Austin State College, earning a B.A. in Sociology in 1969. That same year she married Nim Graves, and together they had two children. Kay's passions included her grandchildren, her extensive miniatures collection, crafting greeting cards, and her volunteer work for the Angels' Attic Resale Store, a ministry of the White's Chapel United Methodist Church. Per her wishes, cremation will be followed by scattering her ashes in a field of wild flowers. A Memorial Service to celebrate Kay's life will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at the White's Chapel UMC, 185 S White's Chapel Blvd., Southlake, TX 76092. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name are encouraged to be made to Mercy Hospice, 417 Oakbend Drive, Lewisville, TX 75067.
