The body of Jack B. Heavin was returned to Salem, Mo., for services and interment in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Heavin, 63, 1634 3rd Est, Rock Springs, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1995 at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City where he had been a patient for one day.

He was born Dec. 16, 1931 in Salem, Mo., a son of Alva and Marie Bowman Heavin. He attended schools in Salem, Mo. and graduated from high school there in 1949.

He married Merlyn Bennett on March 11, 1950 in Salem, Ark. He was a resident of Rock Springs for the past 20 years and was in the automotive business most of his life.

He was an outdoorsman and one of his hobbies was spending time at his cabin in Kemmerer.

Survivors include his wife, Merlyn, Rock Springs; his mother, Marie Heavin, Salem, Mo.; five sons, Jack B. Heavin Jr. in North Carolina, James W. Heavin, Salem, Mo., Jay L. Heavin, Blaine, Wash., and Jon D. Heavin and Joe E. Heavin, both of Rock Springs; one daughter, Jill D. Lacey, Round Mountain, Nev.; and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.
