Joachim Baivier Chilton Times May 17, 1879

At his residence in the Town of New Holstein, this county, on the morning of the 13th instant, Joachim Baivier. The deceased was born June 8th, 1829, at Bernwelz, Canton de Chimay, Belgium. He emigrated to the United States in 1856, resided one year in New York and then located permanently on the place where he was called from to enter, we believe, a higher and holier sphere, as he was a true Christian and an honest upright man as well as an obliging and industrious neighbor and a reliable friend. He leaves a widow and five children – two boys and three girls, the eldest girl being married – as well as three brothers and a sister to mourn his departure. Resquiescat in pace. His brother Alphonse is one of the respected citizens of this city.
