Mrs. Amy Kayea died at her home in the Rome section of Au Sable Forks, New York, Tuesday, March 12, 1940. Death was caused by angina pectoris, with which she had suffered the past two years, having been confined to her bed for two weeks previous to her death.

She was born in Hammondsville, New York, near Crown Point, January 24, 1884, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jules Votraw. She had lived in Au Sable Forks since early girlhood.

Mrs. Kayea was survived by two daughters, Mrs. Wilfred Rushia of Au Sable Forks and Mrs. David Snye of Walden, New York, and by four sons, Raymond, Henry, John and Desmond, all of Au Sable Forks.

Also surviving were eight brothers, John, Thomas and Albert Votraw of Au Sable Forks, Joseph of Walkill, New York, Urgil of Plattsburgh, New York, Wilber and William of Syracuse, New York, and Clarence of Hartford, Connecticut; and by two sisters. Mrs. Clifford Roberts of Springfield, Massachusetts, and Mrs. George Pelkey, jr., of Au Sable Forks.

The funeral was held Thursday morning, March 14, 1940, at Holy Name church in Au Sable Forks, mass being celebrated by the Reverend Father J. J. Kelly. Interment was in Holy Name cemetery. The bearers were Burt Cross, Charles Marshall, Wilfred Bola, Thomas O'Neill, Clarence Thomas and William Snye.
