DeWitt Stearns (Randy) Randall D.M.D passed away September 24, 2012 after fighting leukemia and lymphoma for 22 YEARS.

Randy was born in Utica, New York on February 17, 1940 to Mark and Olga Randall. He was raised in Hamilton, New York and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1957. He did his undergraduate studies at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine and then graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry in 1966. After college he enlisted in the U.S. Army attaining the rank of Captain. He was posted at Fort Lewis Washington and upon discharge decided he wanted to remain in the northwest and opened a dental practice in Issaquah, Washington in 1969.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Maureen and five children, Melissa Palmquist (Jim), Ryan Randall (Tracye), Hillary Minter (Brad), Stephen Bunting (Diana) Monica Lucarelli (Pete), ten wonderful grandchildren, and brother R. Kirk Randall of Newburyport Ma. One child, Trevor, preceded him in death.

He retired from his dental practice in 2006. He truly enjoyed dentistry and many patients became personal friends. Based on his expertise he was asked to join the staff at Modern Dental Lab as a consultant. The lab was more fun than a job. He was able to travel to China with his boss and another employee to see the lab there. He couldn't wait to get to the lab when there was a big sports event coming up so he could bet a six pack (which he would usually win). He also volunteered for the Washington Dental Service Foundation working on the Smile Mobile, a motorhome equipped with 3 dental chairs that went around Western Washington providing dental care to low income kids that might not otherwise have access to dental care. This was one of the most fulfilling opportunities he had as a dentist.

He was a passionate skier and waited anxiously each year for the snow to fall. It was a personal challenge to him to see how many ski days he could get in each year. He was able to start 9 of the 10 grandkids on the ski slopes which made him so happy. In addition to skiing, he loved to coach youth soccer teams and he played soccer into his sixties. He loved all sports and was a sports trivia ''expert''.
