He was a native of New Orleans, son of the late Nevette Eugene and Nona Allen Kaylor, retired as executive director of Gastonia Housing Authority, member of Covenant United Methodist Church, served on church building and pastor-parish relations committees and as chairman of administrative board, president of men's fellowship, mason, member of the Gaston County Shrine Club and Oasis Temple, Rotary Club, served on the board of Family Resource Center, Salvation Army Boys & Girls Clubs and battered spouses shelter, volunteer with Crisis Assistance Ministry and Literacy Council.
