Gennora Viola Mobraten, resident of Palm Desert, CA, passed away on the morning of Sunday, November 6, 2011. She was 86 years young. Gennora and her late twin Genevieve were born to Martha and Michael Deutsch on July 14, 1925, and raised in San Jose, California. She lived and played in Lake Tahoe and Palm Desert for much of her life. She was married to the late Orris Mobraten for 42 years, and he always continued to be the love of her life. She is survived by her daughter Terrie Hansen, with whom she shared her Lake Tahoe home along with her youngest grandson, and her daughter Tandy Buckley and son-in-law Rex Buckley, who enjoyed her winters with her in Woodhaven Country Club in Palm Desert. Her eight grandchildren are Matthew and Joshua Liddicoat, Oliver and Grover Phillips, Elija Hansen, Doug Buckley, Cathy Buckley, and Diane Buckley-Koningsor. She was also very proud to be great-grandmother to fifteen wonderful great-grandchildren Tanner, Taylor, Jessica, Logan, Milo, Delphi, Wiley, Lauren, Alexis, Aaron, Kaylin, Julia, Ashton, Devin and Sofia. The most important thing in her life was her family, and she nurtured a special relationship with each person. Gennora was an avid volunteer in many community organizations including the Santa Clara Swim Club, hospitals, St. Johns Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America(WELCA), and CASA child advocacy. She was a dedicated friend, an accomplished pianist, an elegant and gracious hostess, and so much more. She worshipped at St. John's Lutheran Church in Palm Desert, Christ the King Lutheran Church in Tahoe City, and Trinity Lutheran Church in San Jose. There will be a Memorial Service for Gennora on Saturday, November 12 at 11:00, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 42695 Washington Street, Palm Desert, California, 92211. A reception will follow at her home in Woodhaven Country Club to continue celebrating her life. She was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, a strong and resourceful woman, and she will be deeply missed by everyone she touched. We love you, Gigi.
