Mrs. Wilhelmine Marose Died Thursday

Mrs. Wilhelmine Marose, widow of the late Fred Marose, a resident of this community since 1887, died at her home in this village Thursday morning February 8th. She was 81 years of age.
Mrs. Wilhelmine Birr was born in Hasenberg, Germany on September 27, 1858, where she grew to womanhood and was married to Fred Marose on November 25, 1877. They resided in Germany until the year 1881 when they came to America and settled at Chaska, Minnesota, where they resided until the year 1887 when they came to Albany and settled on a farm three miles north of Albany. In 1912 they retired from the farm and after living in St. Paul for eight years returned to Albany where they built a new home and where she resided since. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1937. She was a faithful member of the Evangelical Ebenezer church of Albany. Mr. Marose died January 23, 1938. They were the parents of 11 children, six of whom died in infancy. The five children surviving are. Mrs. R. C. Hettenbaugh, Taylor, North Dakota; Miss Hattie Marose, Albany; Mrs. M. N. Sanftner, Crosby, Minn.; William Marose, Bemidji, Minn.; Mrs. P. A. Rogatz, Minneapolis. There are six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Augusta Pfuhl of Route 2 Avon.
The funeral was held Sunday afternoon with Rev. J. Geo. Herrlinger officiating at the service at home at 1:30 o'clock and at the Evangelical Ebenezer church at 2:00 o'clock after which burial was made in the local Ebenezer cemetery. The funeral was largely attended by relatives and friends. Pallbearers were six nephews: Emil, Louie, Gustave and Walter Birr, Albert and William Pfhul. Aaron Birr carried the cross.
