He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Anna F. Spano; a son, Anthony, Colorado Springs, Colo.; three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Angie) Forbes, 4 W. Hewitt St., Mrs. Alfred (Rose) Notaro, Hallbrook, L.I;, and Mrs. William (Margaret) Eastman, in Japan, and 11 grandchildren. Two sisters, a brother and half-brother predeceased him.
Born June 28, 1898, in Calabria, Italy, a son of Anthony and Angela. Muscato Spano, he came to the United States in 1909 and became a citizen in 1928. He married Anna Frazzitta, also a native of Italy, April .24 1921. in St. Anthony's Church -The couple renewed their wedding vows during celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary in 1971.
Mr. Spano was employed 25 years by the New York Air Brake Co., and had worked on construction for several local contractors until retiring.
He was a member of St. Anthony's Church, the Italian American Civic Association, and in earlier years had been a member of the Eagles Club and the Mount Carmel Society
