At Marytown, Fond du Lac Co.,Wis., on the 1st inst., Mathias Kraus, sen., aged 88 years and 6 months. The deceased was a native of Prussia and has been a resident of the town of Calumet for 31 years. He was father of John and Hubert Kraus, of this city. He was an upright and honorable man, a true Christian, a genuine friend, a fond husband and a loving father and was so highly esteemed by his neighbors that the members of six congregations held him in such high esteem that they paid their last respects to their old neighbor by nearly all attended the funeral. He was a remarkably healthy man. His medicine account during his long life not exceeding five dollars.
