Born Feb. 15, 1925, in Sykesville, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Buck and Esther Pickett Barnes.
She was a graduate of Sykesville High School. She worked at several jobs, including Carroll County Public Schools. Her last job was as a cashier at McDougal's Drug Store in Eldersburg.
Growing up, she attended Messiah Lutheran Church, and when she moved to Gaither, she attended Gaither United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Old Bonn-ette Club of Sykesville. She was an active member of Winfield Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and the Freedom District Lioness Club.
Surviving are son Eric Haugh, sister-in-law Nancy T. Barnes and several cousins.
She was predeceased by brother Sewell "Buck" Barnes.
