Carl Edward Kellogg, son of Edward Bernard and Berneice Virginia Truby Kellogg, was born February 27, 1933, in Moberly, Missouri and departed this life October 30, 2012, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-nine years.

Carl was a devout Catholic and a longtime active and faithful member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church. The time shared and memories made with his church family, was very important to him.

Carl attended school in Booneville, Missouri and then attended the University of Missouri in Columbia. After graduating from college, Carl joined the United States Army and proudly served our country through the Korean War. He entered on April 24, 1955 and was honorably discharged on April 23, 1957, after obtaining the rank of Captain. Carl was proud of his service time and remained dedicated to the future successes of our country.

On August 21, 1954, he was united in marriage with Carroll JoAnn Atkinson. They lived in Fulton, Missouri, where they raised their children. While living in Fulton, Carl was an accountant for Danuser Machine Company for many years. He also worked for Fulton State Hospital as an accountant until 1973, when they moved to Marshall, Missouri. While in Marshall, Carl became the Assistant Superintendant for Marshall Habilitation Center, formerly Marshall State School and Hospital, until his retirement.

After retirement in 1993, Carl and Carroll moved to the Bennett Spring, Missouri area, where he became the owner and operator of C.K. Tackle. On October 24, 1995, Carroll passed away.

Carl then united in marriage with Mary Carr on October 3, 1998. Prior to his passing, Carl and Mary had celebrated fourteen years of love and laughter together.

Although Carl was a hard worker and devoted much of his time to being a successful businessman and provider for his family, he also took time to enjoy a variety of hobbies. Carl enjoyed sports of all kinds, and umpiring baseball with his father and brother, in his

younger years. Carl was a music lover and especially enjoyed jazz music. He had obtained quite a collection through the years. Carl was always up for a challenge and completed numerous puzzles.

Community involvement was important to Carl. He was a member of VFW #4107, Bennett Spring Fire Protection District, and Knights of Columbus. However, of all Carl's accomplishments through the years, nothing compared to the unconditional love and support he had for his family. They were his greatest achievement.

He leaves to celebrate his memory, his wife Mary; one son, Kevin Kellogg of Marshall, MO; three daughters, Karla Dautenhahn and her husband David of Overland Park, KS, Pam Lewis and her husband Jim of Athens, TN, and Karen Vogel and her husband Rick of Naperville, IL; three step-sons, G.T. Carr and his wife Jill, Jim Carr and his wife Amy and Steve Carr and his wife Angie, all of Lebanon, MO; one step-daughter, Jenny Carr of Springfield, MO; one brother, Ronnie Kellogg and his wife Irene of Blue Springs, MO; one niece, Brenda Modrell; fourteen grandchildren, Monica Womac, Cynthia Pritchett, Sarah Simon, Jeremy Dautenhahn, Rachel Blair, Brandon Vogel, Britney Leet, Brenna Vogel, Haleigh, Allison, Harrison, Grant, Campbell and Maddie Carr; ten great-grandchildren, Elliott Blair, Shay Simon, Desiree, Donivan, Devin, and Annaleigh Pritchett, Bailey and Braden Womac, and Chase and Gavin Blankenbaker; other relatives, church family and friends.

Carl was also preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister; and one step-son, Clint Carr.

Carl was a caring husband, loving father, cherished brother, fun-loving grandfather and loyal friend. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him through the years will forever treasure his kind spirit and generous nature. Our loss was most certainly Heaven's gain.
