Leo Rougeau, 53, died suddenly Saturday afternoon, October 8, 1966, at 3:00 p.m., while working at the J. & J. Rogers Company Paper Mill in Au Sable Forks, New York.

Cause of death was an acute coronary occlusion.

He was born September 25, 1913 in Forestdale, New York, the son of the late Henry and Alphosine (Marechal) Rougeau.

A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion Post No. 504, Au Sable Forks.

He was survived by his wife, the former Amy Mousseau; a stepson, Reverend Father Thomas G. Votraw of Chateaugay, New York; four brothers, Henry and William of Au Sable Forks; Halsey of Black Brook, Joseph of Peru and two sisters, Mrs. Eva Ghiloni of Tavares, Florida and Mrs. Margaret Matton of Plattsburgh, New York and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 11, 1966, at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Name Church in Au Sable Forks. The Mass was celebrated by his stepson, Father Votraw, who also read the prayers at the graveside.

Mr. Rougeau was a kind and respected person liked by all who knew him in his community.

A military funeral was accorded Mr. Rougeau by his fellow comrades of the American Legion Post No. 504.

The pall bearers were: Homer Facto, Vernon Yando, Clifton LaGoy, Ernest Senecal, Hugh Dougherty and Leo Betters.
