George William Coffee, son of
Lewis W. and Mary Coffee, passed
away on Wednesday morning, April
7, 1897 southwest of Vliet, Kansas.
He was 10 years, 9 months and 28
days of age. He was born in Frank-
fort, Kansas on June 9, 1886.

George had been in ill health for
about three weeks, with typhoid
fever. He had been a member of
the Vliets school. He was a good
student and well liked by the
teachers and other students.

Funeral services were held on
Thursday, April 8th at the colored
Baptish church in Frankfort with
Reverend Underwood officiating.
Burial was in the Frankfort Cemet-
ery, Frankfort, Kansas beside his
little brother who preceded him in
death four years ago.
