Bobby Keith Pack

Bobby Keith Pack, a resident of Martinez, Calif., entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on May 26, 2007, ending a 20-year courageous battle with brain cancer at age 69.

Born to Basil and Grace Pack on Oct. 2, 1937, he was raised in Griffithsville, W.Va., along with his eight brothers and sisters. He graduated from Duval High School in 1955, entered the U.S. Air Force at that time serving nine years. Bob graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a BS in Business Administration in 1965. Employed by Texaco for 30 years, he started his career with them in sales then moved into terminal management. Transferred to Texaco's Richmond Terminal in 1978, working there until his retirement from the company in 1995 when the facility was sold to IMTT. He continued to work for IMTT-Richmond as Terminal Manager for five more years. He always genuinely valued his co-workers. Bob was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in 1987 at age 49. Following treatment, he returned to his job, working 13 more years. He then enjoyed his retirement in spite of his continuing health battle. Golf has been his saving grace, loving to play; it got him up and out on a daily basis until the last months of his life. He was a faithful member of Hope Center Covenant Church.

In 1958, he married Gail Williams, his devoted wife, who survives him. They have three loving children, Marjorie Knight (Russell) of Sacramento, Calif., Jon Pack of Wisconsin and Amy Hammer (Mike) of Martinez, Calif. He was Papaw to nine adored grandchildren, Ashley and Spencer Knight, Ryan, Brandon, Grant and Robert ?Bobby? Pack, Zachary, Alexis and Wyatt Hammer. Seven cherished siblings survive, brothers, James Leo, Ronald, Joe, Bill and Gregory Pack, and sisters, Barbara Tygret and Peggy Miller.

His brother Donald and his parents predeceased him.

A celebration of his life will be held at Bible Center Church, 1111 Oakhurst Drive, Charleston, WV 25314 on Sunday, June 10, at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, you may wish to consider a donation in his memory to the Musella Foundation (for Brain Tumor Research), 1100 Peninsula Blvd., Hewlett, NY 11557.
