Horace was the ninth child of John Wesley Hare. He was the fourth child born to John Wesley and John's second wife, Maggie Lynn Roller.

Charles Laurence Haire Parrish**

**Charles Laurence's mother and John Wesley's first wife, Ellen Purcell Haire died from complications of his birth. His father could not care for him and he was adopted by Stanley Russell Parrish and Eva Goodhue Parrish. Laurence and his wife, Grace Clawson Rife Parrish are buried in Rossville Cemetery, Rossville, Illinois.

Wife: Zelma Ree Morgan

Horace and Zelma married 20 July 1940 at the Fish Hatchery, Glasgow, Barren County, Kentucky. They had five children.

Horace was a plumber and for many years for recreation he was a "square dance caller".

Horace and Zelma are buried in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Plot: SW C 03 (Left front towards chain length fence). His brother, Walter D Hare is also buried in cemetery, Section: Rose (Back Right about few graves from the back fence-left side of road).
